On 19 August 2021, Zimbabwe deposited its instrument of ratification successfully, becoming as a result the 133rd Party to the Minamata Convention on Mercury. The Secretariat looks forward to having Zimbabwe as a Party effective (90 days after the ratification, as stipulated by the text of the Convention) and working together to make mercury history.

An Executive Briefing on the online segment of the Fourth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP-4) will be held on 19 October within the framework of the Geneva Environment Network.
The International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), through its Earth Negotiations Bulletin (ENB), will cover the online segment of COP-4 from 1 to 5 November.
On 30 September 2021, Poland deposited its instrument of ratification successfully, becoming as a result the 135th Party to the Minamata Convention on Mercury.
